What I Learned at the Penn Relays: Bringing World-Class Insights Back to Vermont

Over the last few days, I had the opportunity to return to my roots, supporting high-level athletes as a recovery specialist with Skinletics.com at the Penn Relays.

A Culture of Excellence
What struck me most during this event was that, even at the highest levels of performance, gaps in soft-tissue mobilization and the ability to see and address fascial patterns are holding athletes back. In observing these world-class movers, I was reminded of how important it is to understand the unique patterns in each individual’s body. As I’ve always seen in my own work, the ability to “unstick” areas of restriction and create movement opportunities is what truly unlocks potential. It isn’t just about hands-on treatment—it’s about understanding and interpreting the body’s patterns, and using that information to enhance functional movement patterns that support long-term health and performance.

These insights are critical, not just for the athletes I work with, but for their coaches and trainers as well. The patterns I see on the table directly influence how I approach training and working with movement professionals. Whether it’s in manual therapy or movement coaching, this integration is essential. While I continue learning from my peers at events like the Penn Relays, it’s clear that this holistic approach to the body is still rare—and something I’m fortunate to be able to offer to my clients here in Vermont.

What I Brought Back for You
So, what does all this mean for you? It means that I’m back with fresh insights into what makes movement truly effective and sustainable. Whether you’re working on mobility, recovery, or improving overall movement quality, I’m here to bring that high-level knowledge straight to your training. By working with coaches, trainers, and athletes at the top of their game, I’m constantly refining my approach, and now I get to bring that back to help you reach your goals. There’s a huge gap in soft-tissue health and movement recovery, and being able to fill that gap with insights gained from these elite spaces is an exciting opportunity.

A Commitment to Doing No Harm
Through all my years of working with some of the best movement professionals in the world, I’ve always remained committed to doing no harm and ensuring that every approach I take is rooted in knowledge and respect for the body. Whether I’m assessing fascial patterns or training functional movement, I always come back to the same principle: we must work from a place of excellence. It’s not about the latest trends—it’s about what actually works for you and supporting your unique needs to help you move better, feel better, and perform at your best.

Being at the Penn Relays reminded me that I’m still at the top of my game, and I’m excited to continue this work with you. It’s not just about bringing insights from the highest level—it’s about making sure those insights are used to empower you to move with more freedom, strength, and resilience.
